I just read this over at Tenser, said the Tensor about the directness of words in German. I'm not sure, but I think it must be simply one of the most brilliant instances of deadpan I've ever seen, and if not one of the most depressing failures of a German language course (I'll have to assume the first, because, having read Tenser for quite a while I'd imagine he'd do a bit of research before making a post like this.).

God save those with no sense of humour: their German will be forever skewed!
